To the ancient Greeks, kosmos meant order: the universe seen as a well-arranged whole, the opposite of chaos. That is the whole idea of the app. A working day arrives as chaos, and Kosnote helps you turn it into ordered notes, one for each project, client or escalation you are carrying.

The logo is the swirl at the centre of the painting Order in Chaos. At the heart of the painting everything is still moving; at the edges it settles into squares and lines.

    One note per piece of work, filed under your own categories. It saves as you type: there is no Save button to forget.

    Works with your notes folder

    Point it at an Obsidian vault or any folder. Notes are plain Markdown that any editor can open.

    Find anything, from anywhere

    Press Alt+Space in any program to search your notes and files across every folder you add, OneDrive included.

    Links and a graph

    Type [[ to link one note to another, and see how the work connects in the graph.

    Nudges

    It notices what is waiting, what has stalled and what you left half-written, and brings it back to you.

    Mail and dashboards alongside

    Drop an Outlook email into a note, and pin the dashboards, reports and links you check every day.

Ask your notes a question.

The Ask tab is a chat that reads your work for you. Choose what it looks at, then ask it to summarise a project, find what is still open, draft an update or answer a question from your notes and files.

It only reads. Nothing changes unless you press Save under an answer, and each chat is kept as a Markdown file you can find again. Use your own AI provider: DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Azure OpenAI, or a model running on your own PC with Ollama or LM Studio.

Kosnote runs on your PC. There is no account and no Kosnote cloud.

Reference, never copy

Attachments stay where they are; notes link to them. Nothing is moved into a hidden store.

You choose the AI

Ask sends text only to the provider you set up. With a local model, nothing leaves the PC at all.
